Elise Tusson has been named as the Har-Ber High School assistant principal.
"I would like to thank Dr. Cleveland, the district leadership team, the Springdale School Board and Dr. Griep for the opportunity to serve the Springdale community in a new capacity," Tusson said. "I am humbled each day I get to work alongside the excellent educators at Har-Ber High School."
Tusson has been a speech-language pathologist for Central Junior High School and the district and was, most recently, an instructional facilitator at Har-Ber High School.
She has been an educator for five years, all of which were with Springdale Schools.
Tusson has a rich instructional background and leadership experience in the field of teaching and learning, said Dr. Jared Cleveland, Springdale Public Schools superintendent.
“Her experience in multiple areas, including special education, will amplify the exceptional work of the HBHS faculty and staff,” Cleveland said. “Mrs. Tusson is excited to transition into her new role as assistant principal, where she will dedicate herself to serving the students, families, staff and community of Springdale.”
Dr. Paul Griep, Har-Ber High School principal, believes Tusson will continue the tradition of excellence at Har-Ber.
"I am excited that Mrs. Tusson will be joining our team as an assistant principal," Griep said. "Over the past year at Har-Ber, Mrs. Tusson has demonstrated servant leadership as an Instructional facilitator. She will be an excellent addition to our administrative team."
Tusson earned a Bachelor of Science in education from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, a master's in speech language pathology from the University of Arkansas and an Education Specialist degree in educational leadership from Arkansas State University in Jonesboro.
She said she loves to spend her free time cheering for the Hogs with her husband, Ben, of four years.
