Today, Har-Ber High School seniors picked up graduation cords and turned in Chromebooks. Our teachers surprised the students with balloons and signs. We are proud of the Class of 2020!
What a great year for the Har-Ber Swim & Dive Team! Lots of Wildcats earned their Varsity Letter, competed and earned a medal at state! Many students earned 1st & 2nd Team All-Conference recognition.
As we look forward to summer, take a look back on what the swim team achieved this year through the video.

Har-Ber High School is blessed with many amazing teachers. We want to congratulate Amy Martfeld who was selected as the 2019-2020 Har-Ber High School Teacher of the Year.
Amy Martfeld goes above and beyond to support our students and our teachers. Amy is incredible and we are proud to have her as a member of the Wildcat family!
We surprised Amy with a message that shows her how much we appreciate her service to Har-Ber!
Parents of Seniors,
We need a short video of your student throwing his/her graduation cap in the air. This is for the Senior Special video that is being produced. Please have your senior check his/her school email for a message sent from Dr. Gladden.
Saylor Wilson joined the Har-Ber swim team during her freshman year but had to sit out of competitions due to joining the team mid-year. For any athlete that is never an easy task but she worked with her club coach and created a plan for her to continue to train. That plan set her up for a great sophomore year. Early on in the season she qualified for state in multiple individual events. This was her first year in the 6A Conference and she showed she means business by finishing 2nd in the Conference for the 100 breast and also earning a spot on the podium in the same event at State is a huge achievement. Which earned her the title of "Newcomer of the Year". Each meet she wasn't chasing swimmers, swimmers were trying to out touch her at the wall. Scoring the most individual points for the team earned her the right to be named this years, "Most Valuable Wildcat". To continue on, Coach Nathan Whitten said this, "Her journey to being a top swimmer in the state hasn't been easy but it has allowed her to grow as a student-athlete and realize you can only control your own narrative. Where most people would have been defeated from these past two years she continued to hone in on her goals at the pool in which got her on the podium at state." Congratulations to Saylor and her awards!

The Har-Ber FFA Veterinary Science team participated in a nationwide online career development event competition last week. This team placed first place! The top four individuals on our team were Izzy Sedrick, Cassia Cobb, Emily Bailey, and GG Diaz. Other team members include Sierra Harp, Max McGooden, Ava Crow, and Kaisha Ray. These students have spent many hours with each other and their coach virtually during the AMI time. Attached are two photos taken prior to school closure.
Seniors and Parents,
On Monday, May 18, we will distribute the following:
* A free, Class of 2020 Graduation yard sign to ALL seniors.
* Graduation Cords
Please note: As of today, we have received a majority of the Graduation Cords. There are a few that have not arrived and will be coming shortly. We will distribute the items that we currently have. If you do not receive an item that you believe that you should, please contact the organization sponsor.
Please see the link below to the Google Doc that explains the timeline and logistics for the "drive through" pickup. It is similar to when students picked up their graduation cap/gown.
Also, please see picture below for the "12 Days of Graduation." Leading up to the release of the Har-Ber High School Graduation Special (aired on May 30 at 1:00), we will celebrate the "12 Days of Graduation." This unique countdown will begin on Monday, May 18th and include 12 themed days. Each day, we want you to capture your themed image and share it on social media. Springdale Schools will also be accepting submissions to posts on district and school social media platforms. #SPSSENIORS2020.
