We are thrilled to share the outstanding results from the 2024 Arkansas Student Congress! 20 high schools from across the state met at the Arkansas Capitol to participate in a mock legislative session. Students ran for office in their respective caucuses, participated in committees to amend student legislation, and prepared for floor debates. Then, students took office within their designated Houses of Representatives (I-III) and began floor debates. The HBHS team worked diligently and performed exceptionally well.

Did you hear the good news from Saturday night? Har-Ber Silver Stars Varsity and JV scored first in every style of dance and Varsity took home the Grand Champion recognition in the Varsity division. Way to go, Silver Stars!

Our Animal Science classes have had a busy semester already! Check out what they have been up to.
76 students toured the Animal Emergency & Speciality Clinic of NWA. They learned about entry level positions, career opportunities, and hands-on skills needed to work at a veterinary clinic. A special thanks to Marelyn Mendoza, Har-Ber graduate & AESC employee, for spending all day with our students.
Representatives from Simmons Foods spent time at HB teaching students in poultry science about career opportunities at Simmons Foods & presented a lesson on how to create a quality resume.
HBHS students enrolled in Poultry Science had the opportunity to tour Cargill Turkey Processing Plant. While there, students learned of the many opportunities available to them in our community. A special thank you to Cargill for donating turkey wings for students to utilize in a lab where they will learn to identify the different bones of the animal skeltal system.
Poultry Science students attended a conference at the University of Arkansas Poultry Science Department. They learned of poultry science career opportunities and got hands on practice grading carcasses.
