Cooper Horn is a 10th grader at Har-Ber High School this year. Cooper is an excellent cattle showman and fitter. Cooper finished 4th in his class at AYE this year and was 1st in his class and 5th overall steer this year at the Washington County Fair. Cooper takes a different approach to showing as many of his exhibits are raised by him and his family. Cooper has large aspirations to own and operate his own cattle heard when he graduates high school. Cooper is also a vital part of the Har-Ber livestock judging team, as an 8th grader Cooper earned his spot on the state qualifying livestock judging competition in 2019.
Congratulations to Hayden and Carter Swope Har-Ber High School boys double state championships in tennis. Also, please congratulate the Har-Ber High School boys tennis team for being the 6A state runner-up. State championships are another reason why Springdale Schools are #TheChoice .

Anayah Phipps is a 9th grader at Central Junior High School this year. This was her second year to exhibit market hogs for Har-Ber FFA. Anayah has grown her project from showing one hog to two this year. At AYE Anayah was tops of her class and represented very well in Showmanship. At the Washington County Fair she was 2nd in class and made the sale with her gilt. Anayah is a stock woman that has grown in the past two years and does a great job with the details of every little part of raising livestock.
Abi Kelly is a 10th grader at Har-Ber High this year, she is an active member on the lamb show circuit year around and is always at the top of any national or local show. Abi is also on the Har-Ber Livestock Judging team, she has been a major reason for its success the past two years.
Abi was Grand Champion Senior showman at AYE and the Washington County Fair and many other shows across the country. Abi also Exhibited the Reserve Grand Champion AOB Lamb at AYE this year. Abi is one of the best lamb showmen in the state of Arkansas due to her hard work and never quit attitude.

ASVAB Career Exploration Program

The Counseling Center is pleased to host the Free ASVAB Career Exploration Program Wednesday, October 21st 1st through 4 periods.
The ASVAB Career Exploration Program is a FREE comprehensive career exploration and planning program open to any student without obligation that includes :
-a multiple aptitude test battery (an aptitude is a job/career area you might be successful in if you had further training)
-interest inventory
-various computerized career-planning tools designed to help you explore the world of work and prioritize possible career choices.
Students who are interested in the US Military are encouraged to test since it allows you the earliest opportunity to re-test if needed. You may re-test in this session even if you have previously tested.
Seats are extremely limited due to spacing requirements.

Paperwork for flu shots will be sent out this week during Advisory class. Students may also pickup paperwork from the Health Office. Flu shot forms are due by October 20 and the shots will be given November 2.
We are highly encouraging flu shots this year because of possible complications with COVID.
It is October 5th, please apply for Free and Reduced Lunch. It is time to POWER UP!

On Wednesday, October 14, HBHS will administer the PSAT to all 10th graders. We will also administer the examination to 11th/12th graders who signed up.
If you are an 11th/12th grader who is not taking the PSAT, then October 14 will be a Remote Learning day. Please use the Remote Learning time to complete assignments. Remember that Oct. 16 is the end of the 1st quarter.
